Internet Explorer Shortcut Keys
You can use Internet Explorer keyboard shortcuts keys to view and explore Web pages, preview pages before printing, use the Address bar, work with favorites, and edit.
While viewing and exploring Web pages, you can use the following shortcuts:
F1 Will display Internet Explorer Help, or when in a dialog box, it will display context Help on an item.
F11 Will toggle between full-screen and regular views of the browser window.
TAB Moves forward through the items on a Web page, the Address bar, and the Links bar.
SHIFT+TAB Moves back through the items on a Web page, the Address bar, and the Links bar.
ALT+HOME Sends you to your Home page.
ALT+RIGHT ARROW Goes to the next page.
ALT+LEFT ARROW or BACKSPACE To go to the previous page.
SHIFT+F10 Displays a shortcut menu for a link.
CTRL+TAB or F6 Moves forward between frames.
SHIFT+CTRL+TAB Moves back between frames.
UP ARROW Scrolls toward the beginning of a document.
DOWN ARROW Scrolls toward the end of a document.
PAGE UP Scrolls toward the beginning of a document in larger increments.
PAGE DOWN Scrolls toward the end of a document in larger increments.
HOME Moves to the beginning of a document.
END Moves to the end of a document.
CTRL+F executes “Find on this page”.
F5 or CTRL+R refreshes the current Web page.
CTRL+F5 Refreshes the current Web page, even if the time stamp for the Web version and your locally stored version are the same.
ESC Stops downloading a page.
CTRL+O or CTRL+L Use either of these to go to a new location.
CTRL+N Opens a new window.
CTRL+W Closes the current window.
CTRL+S Saves the current page.
CTRL+P Prints the current page or active frame.
ENTER Activates a selected link.
CTRL+E Opens the Search bar.
CTRL+I Opens the Favorites bar.
CTRL+H Opens the History bar.
CTRL+ click Use this in the History or Favorites bars to open multiple folders.
While using the Print Preview shortcut:
ALT+P Sets printing options and prints the page.
ALT+U is used to change paper, headers and footers, orientation, and margins for this page.
ALT+HOME Displays the first page to be printed.
ALT+LEFT ARROW Displays the previous page to be printed.
ALT+A Types the number of the page you want displayed.
ALT+RIGHT ARROW Displays the next page to be printed.
ALT+END Displays the last page to be printed.
ALT+MINUS Will Zoom out.
ALT+PLUS Will Zoom in.
ALT+Z Displays a list of zoom percentages.
ALT+F Specifies how you want frames to print. This option is available only if you are printing a Web page that uses frames.
ALT+C Closes Print Preview.
These shortcuts are available when using the Address Bar
ALT+D Selects the text in the Address bar.
